Peace flows from love and compassion
not from self-gratification
without a life of giving there can’t be abiding peace

The peace born of social strife
annexation or worldly victory is just a pause
between one war and the other

Its skin burnt up in the heat of fiery trial.
Only such peace endures through all struggle
whose dwelling is a selfless heart

Undying peace goes with loving service and harmony
consensus and accommodation
light of wisdom guiding your every step.
