Unfettered Poem by Sheri Green

Unfettered

Alone, drowning in a sea of humanity
hands bound and twisted behind me
never allowed to be free

Walking velvet halls of subtlety
dare make no sound lest they discover me
searching for the door of my reality

Yet the walls of mirrors do deceive
scattered images taunt and confuse me
dazed and lost in fractured esprit

So close my eyes, let my heart lead
untie the tethers that bind me
walking the path unerringly

The silence so utterly deafening
walking with hands before me
searching for that which longs to be

Piercing the veils of obscurity
hearts errant sojourn of tranquility
encounters intent so persistently

Breaking bonds of subdued captivity
loosing restraints with a vibrant plea
finally allowed to become me
