Unfinished

Poem by Khalid Mansour Saleh

So many choices so many thing to do
Thinking of my life just turns me into a deeper shade of blue
But then when I smile and I put on that mask
People don’t realise just to ask

Put on the front to deceive one and all
To hide the pain from which I fall
Heavy blows in my mind
Feeling the cold hardness as mine to find

Look at the skies above and bless them for the pain
The inflicted pain on my arm and the wretched blood stain
Feeling trapped inside this world of loneliness
Feeling trapped inside a boy that’s lost his holiness.

Where to seek when all is lost
Not to the sky’s or to the mosque
You will get no answer if you ask
So sit tight and bring a flask

I ask you one and all about this country
And to those who have no voice you may speak
And to those that do to close the door
As in my house all are heard
And feelings about this country will be shared.
