Unforgettable Poem by Paul du Plessis

Unforgettable

Rating: 5.0

Recall the memory, the moment of revelation
When divine intervention came to life
Reborn in transformation.

Delete the memory, the time for cover-up
When the worst of humanity surfaced within
Exposed in defamation.

Store the memory, saved for another day
Forgiveness permanently filed under peace
Without his condemnation.

Live by the memory, ready for tomorrow
Changed into faith by the maker of the past
Revealed in incarnation.

(August 2008)

After listening to a sermon on ‘Memories’ at The Salvation Army, St Mary Cray, the text: ‘So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory …’ (2 Peter 1: 12-13 NIV)
