UNFRUITFUL LABOUR by Henry Ochiagha
To everything there is a season
A time to every purpose under the heaven
A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted
A time to keep silence and a time to speak
I have an acquaintance who always goes out early in the morning
And comes back home late with poverty
Love making unnecessary and irrelevant business phone calls
Just to impress inattentive audience
At the end of the day, he seek aid from the same audience
What an irony for a business tycoon to beg food at night
Moreover, that's what you always get
When a cat decides to live with a rat in a hole
Instead of compliment, there will always be competition
Going out early and coming home late is good when the need arises
Without divine direction you will be lost in the forest of life
Working like a donkey and reaping like an ant
Having huge expectation is vital when having the right taught
Every harvest requires a labour
But not every labour yields harvest
working smart brings bountiful harvest
If not mason men would have been among the richest
Because their job is more tedious than politics
I have been in this game for so long
Hoping to make a change when necessary
Workaholics are needed to drive and achieve organizational set goals
But always absent when contracts are sign
Working hard yields harvest no doubt
But a little smartness will do
Instead of going to the sub station through the stair case
He went through the tunnel
Thereby prolonging the number of foot steps required per day
With wisdom, money is sure
But money doesn't guarantee wisdom
There's a path which no fowl knoweth
And which the vulture's eye hath not seen
But where shall wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
The fear of God is wisdom
And to depart from evil is understanding
That's why we are always technical when weeding
Making sure we cultivate with experience
For hope and aspiration is with them that plant a seed
Because with progressive joy they will harvest bountifully.
