Unknown Poem by Micheal Lambert

Unknown

One foot before the other I walked into the unknown,
No sense of direction, no mindful thoughts, nothing shown.
Chasing love, my heart to your heart,
Never did I once think it was only on my part.

Not everything that glitter is gold,
A lesson taught, over and over yet still my anxious heart gets caught in the cold.
Things aren't always the way they seem,
A charm aint always a charm, beauty aint always beauty....be placid, let a dream remain a dream.

I can't make it happen, I can't wish it into being,
'I cant make you love me, ' neither make you feel what I'm feeling.
With my heart laid down at your mercy, within the palm of your hands,
You gently but viciously dismantled it; broken, shattered in fractional strands.

With mine eyes closed and darkness before me,
I opt ‘undo, ' ‘delete, ' my face to my palm, my head to the ground, my emotion on bended knee.
