Unknown Love Poem by Ragy Sandid

Unknown Love

I was alive one day
And asked everybody to love me
And they did
Was it love?
I often wonder if it is love?
If love is to stay and never leave
Then why do they?
If they stay
Why does it feel as if they left?
If love is to hear nice kind words?
Then why does the tune change
When greed comes in
And feels like a roar
Was there love before?
If love is to know
Then why does that knowledge fade
And change so many faces
Till love itself can no longer be called love
And yet it is still called a form of love
If love is gratitude
Then why are some many ungrateful
As if they knew love
But decided to throw it out the window
And replace it with something smellier and more vile
I wonder what is love now
They demand it, like it's made to order
Like it's custom made
And there's a difference between an Armani
And your local mass store
What is love?
And end/start of the year bonus?
An occasion to remember?
A card?
A post?
A word?
A whisper?
A sigh?
Neuron?
?
