Unknown Traveler Poem by Ranjith Wijekoon

Unknown Traveler

I couldn’t take your hand
we couldn’t make family
we couldn’t even say
we love each other but
I still cant forget you.

All children married and gone
my husband has passed away
I am all alone waiting
waiting for my turn
nothing more to hope for

As has been, always my mind runs fast
then stops at that brief moment
when you were so kind to
offer me sitting space
in a crowed bus

Our eyes met, I felt shy
we hardly talked any words
our eyes talked thousand words
you left the bus at un unknown place
but YOU still travel with me
