Unlocked Gateway Poem by Joshua Mccoy

Unlocked Gateway

Above the steep cliffs far beyond Graham Park, sits to two energetic massive lakes forbidden to kiss by a slender strip of land built in jealousy by wasteful fishermen who needed more positions to fish from.

The blaring sun warps the surrounding clouds into a spiral outwards as its earth milked rays rests among the swaying waves like a glimmering solid pathway to the looming atmosphere of invisible stars waiting in the darkness for a chance to take the stage. the spikes below that blend into waves repeatedly kiss the rocks extending into the water unrelentlessly like two passionate beings colliding into each other, the dominate overpowering and covering the weaker in a rocking motion controlled by the breeze of crisp and chilly AC with the wafting scent of rain. Clear skies now gaze down overhead as I ride the strip of land on two wheels and strike curious glances of those plundering nature’s beauty to greedy gorge themselves with unsatiable appetites, I indulge in the rich zest of life flowing all around me by stopping underneath the shade of an awe-inspiring stationary onlooker and breathe in through every pore in concentrated meditation. This is my eternally peaceful and relaxing home secluded from a majority of the world in secrecy,
Were yin meets yang.
Were the roaring water caresses the icy wind.
Were two lovers whisper sweet nothings to each other under the nighttime sky in
intimacy.
Were a soul pining for the heart of another in love, comfort and joy
Is rewarded with peace of mind while waiting to meet
one who feels the same yearning in loneliness.
