Unprecedented Pangs Of Parting Poem by Subhashree Das

Unprecedented Pangs Of Parting

Rating: 5.0

How cruel you could be!
Neither you waited for the
Shining sun to expand its wardrobe
Nor did you spared for the setting sun
To spread its blanket.
Very tranquilly you escaped from the clutches.
Cutting the thread of emotions and leaving only the
Last leaf of memories to relish.
You opted out from desire and hoped for none;
Affinity is as close as blood,
belongingness is as fresh as before.
Entering inside the hall when I saw you lay still
With a white cloth covered on your body,
All my aspires turned down to agony
All my fortunes submerged.
Even after your body buries into ashes,
Soul searches for another
Nowhere can I see your shadow;
But the remembrance within me instils
hope in you as ever before.

Sorrowful narrative piece of poetry, with insightful blend of love and pain, elegantly penned in poetic diction with conviction. Love is a spiritual experience that affects one profoundly, a voyage of pure bliss with intense mutual affinity by both couples. A lovely portrayal of tragedy in bliss of love occasioned by death, well articulated and exquisitely written from the inner recesses of the heart. Thanks for sharing Das. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
