Unpredictable Poem by Andrew Rose

Unpredictable

Unpredictable things always happen,
And something great is waiting for me,
If I make it happen,
This is what you believe,
But I’ve also been waiting for something great,
For that moment of realisation,
But it seems that greatness and me,
Never arranged a certain place or time to meet.

I thought I’d glimpsed something great,
Something to believe in,
Out of the corner of my eye,
A few times before,
But this was just a brief mirage of reality,
And although it looked real enough at the time,
It came to be a fascade,
As the blindfold slowly realeased itself,
To the guns about to burst.

Hope, faith, love, security,
Lined up amongst others I cannot make out,
They remained blindfolded, still,
Waiting to be lost forever.
I cannot wait with them,
I must see them dropp at a distance from me,
And continue on to a new reality,
Seperated from those whom I thought I knew.

Hurt, loss, hate, fragility,
My companions on the road,
Set free with me,
They’ll die you’ll see,
After burrowing deep inside of me,
Everyone leaves and nothing remains.

There must be something else to do.

I’ll not be moved anymore,
Leave me.
