Sometimes I'M Away Poem by Andrew Rose

Sometimes I'M Away

It’s not that I’m unhappy,
I’m having the most fantastic of times,
It’s just
I never knew I’d miss you,
This much at least.

This longing,
I guess it will stop,
Especially if I keep occupied
When I get used to all these new things.
It’s the quiet moments
Which make me think,
Of you in England
And of me in Canada.

It feels so great to get away,
But I know I’ll want to return,
As for now there’s something missing,
It’s you.

I’d miss things going on over here,
Only something’s sometimes,
Like bits of conversations,
Because I’d drift away somewhere
When I’m thinking of you,
But it’s ok though,
It’s where I like to be.

It wouldn’t be so difficult to cope,
If I didn’t think that I…
That you are great,
I mean the best.

I’ve got that feeling again,
The one that makes me want to be with you,
But I’ll be back soon enough,
And we will talk,
Maybe I’ll even let you know
Of how much I care.
