Unrecognizable Poem by Mirela Omerovic

Unrecognizable

There was a person standing

in front of me,

the person was staring at me.

So I stared back.

This person was studying me,

trying to recognize my face.

There was no way I could have know her.

Something about her eyes caught my attention,

I stared into them and saw her life story.

The things I saw were petrifying.

I stopped staring,

I closed my eyes.

She closed her eyes as well.

I sighed, she sighed.

I took one last look at the mirror,

and turned away.
