Unrequited Fire Burns Still For My First Love Poem by Dan Brown

Unrequited Fire Burns Still For My First Love

I remember you, you know.
Wherever you are now,
don’t doubt that I don’t remember you.
I think, every day, of what you gave me;
what we shared.
I think, every day, of you.
I loved you then,
I love you still.
I’d love to find you again,
but doubt I ever will.
My heart holds a place, just for you.
A scared shrine to the boy who
pulled apart my defences brick by brick,
and conquered me.
You.
A fire burns still, feebly fuelled by
the hope that one day, maybe one day,
you enter my life once more and
it need burn no longer.
Each day that passes without you with me,
the flames continue getting stronger.
You were my first, and my Heart’s last, love.
I was your first too.
We both were virgins to this world.
I love you,
I miss you,
and, no matter how much you may have hurt me,
I will always be yours.
I hope you’re well, and,
wherever you are now,
don’t doubt that I don’t remember you.

Another great one. Lost love is so painful.
