Unrequited Love: A Metaphor Poem by RIC BASTASA

Unrequited Love: A Metaphor

the sun shines spreading
itself
warmly upon an island
in the middle of
nowhere
the water is dark and
deep and
so cold
and you shall see
black birds flying away
until
they are all gone
