Unspoken Love Poem by Ama Ratnayake

Unspoken Love

Wakes up each day to the soothing voice heard,
Spending every moment dreaming more and more,
Listening to all chit chats, arguments and laughs,
My days are spent on you, did you know that?

Next door is not far but no guts to show myself,
What if you reject me, it hurts and I dont want it,
I let time passed by, from the time you played as a kid, and grew up with me,
But never came up to you, thought dreams would make through.

Heard wedding bells, realised that time moved so fast,
Then laughs of a women, was I sad? I guess it was it,
I had no regrets for letting my youth on you,
Its only the dreams and thoughts, that made me crawl through.

Commanding your children, its boys I hear them speak,
I guess your life is happy, well its all what I feel,
Then heard you were ill, made me understand we are old,
I wished you the best of health,
But did you make it through?

Heard crying and its next door, oh god it is you!
Whose been my dream ever since, but none of my dreams had this,
I want to walk through the gate and be next to you atleast now,
Oh let me reach my white cane, to say goodbye to you.

Exceptionally written. Some grammar tweaks necessary but the thoughts are well expressed. The trick ending is great. Adeline
