Make Me The Women You Want! Poem by Ama Ratnayake

Make Me The Women You Want!

Lying by my side, watching while I sleep,
I feel your fingers, running through my hair,
I am your princess, you told me that,
I am your breath for life, you really ment it.

Your advices, philosophies, and principles of being a women,
I thought would never carry me to the happiness forward,
'I can handle myself' was my quote and often said,
And here I go on the way which I thought was the best.

I felt your love, but returned it less,
I always dreamt high, you always blessed,
I left your dreams for mine, with him,
I knew you were sad, your eyes showed the hint.

Dreams ended, good times left,
He chased me right outside the nest,
I cried, wept, thought no one for me,
But I came up to you, I knew it was the best.

And here I am once again lying on your chest,
Your fingers running through my hair, and the love is not less,
What if I have listened to you, at least once? I weep,
Oh Mother! Make me the women you want, my heart cries deep.
