Until I Forget.... Poem by Jacson Gelato

Until I Forget....

A long winding white lace-dress
a smile more re-assuring than a fire-place
along the aisle of the church they marched
both arm in arm, as I silently watched;
she called me to her wedding, I could hardly resist
this was my dream, this was my girl...
if only was I the bridegroom and not he
how much content would I not be;
I had loved her so intimately with kisses everday
the passion was never so wild to hold us together;
she left me for him, perhaps he was better
I could only dance, laugh and pretend I was happy
but when her wedding was over, I was intoxicated
by the red wine, by the pain of my own heartaches
which only time will conceal until I forget her deceit.

Until I Forget....
