Untitled Poem by Tabitha Nyssa DiNola DiNola

Untitled

A mother's embrace warm and sweet, ours was a love of a different kind.
Rarely seeing eye to eye, we fought you squabbled bye and bye.
Frustration formed of love and concern bulit up a wall between us we could not burn.
Harsh words exchanged though seemingly bitter were born of a place of fear and anger.
Not anger at you but at the circumstance you could not control.
Yes it was a different kind, we drifted apart through time.
Drifted yes but departed no, I love you still, you are my mom how could I ever fully let you go.
You were not yourself anymore, life saw to that, but you tried your best and that I know eventhough I did not show it.
Truly happy memories I have very few, you weren't in control, nothing you could do.
In the end the love remained, though often times buried beneath a heap of pain.
So I'll dance in the rain for you mom the way you taught me to, I'll teach my children too and we will think of you.
