Untitled 2 - Poem by Lynzi Berner

My heart broke
when you left

I tried to pick up the
but I only cut my hands

Now I'm broken
and bleeding
will this ever stop?

I do not pretend to think
that I can fix my heart
I would rather think back
on how it once was
than to look at it marred
by glue and tape

If I can ever stop
the bleeding
I'll place the pieces
in a jar
high up on the shelf

The remainder of the heart
I gave to you

Time may work
it may heal my heart
But with every thought
of you
Ever memory not forgotten
it will break again

You broke my heart

Can you fix it?

So that I may exist
without you
