Unwinding Into Chaos And Sadness Poem by Garner Stockton

Unwinding Into Chaos And Sadness

Peacefully sleeping
I put my wishes into safekeeping
My soul nor I am thinking
A fleeting moment though gone
It can be made into something
Word unable to speak truth
In a matter of one's own life
Incomprehensible for the human brain
Drained of emotion, most of us are-
Unable to peacefully sleep
With no weight or burden
Cordon wraps the pain in one fell swoop
Little owl, open thy wings-
Many bad things will happen,
With many good in-between
Sound alarm, I hear a knell
Someone has been lost
The grave embossed by the hump-
Of flesh that has been buried
Peacefully sleeping should not be death
The flesh can be made new with
The peace of the unburdened soul
For the little owl, you have many great things
Fling, into the world and-
make your presence known
Do not become despondent
And remember to sleep peacefully
For the next day is new and not-
Ready for you
