Unworthy Poem by Latasha LeeAnn Hall

Unworthy

We are not worthy of the lives we've been given.
We make everything toxic; how could we be forgiven?
We use and we use, and we take away.
Mother Earth's falling apart and we are to blame.

You are all so oblivious to the clues all around:
The melting ice caps, the poisens in the ground,
Animals dying 'mysteiously, ' diseases float in the air.
You are what you eat; does that give you a scare?

Those of you who see, don't you feel as helpless as me?
Why can't we coexist peacefully and let the Earth be?
You should never take more than you'll ever use,
But this is a simple rule we all seem to abuse.

I detest being a member of the human race
When all Earth does is give and we spit in her face.
One day she'll kill us all and you'll understand my disgrace.
It's too late; we'll never comprehend the meaning of the base.

This inadvertant, irreversible scheme we've planned;
None of this is worth it if our world is damned.
My soul cries out at this injustice and imitation of God.
People don't get you can't destroy what you create; we are frauds.
