Upon My Pillow Poem by melissa fox

Upon My Pillow

Upon my pillow
I rest my solemn mind
a triumph over the day
defeat being so kind
the gentle rising stairway
to the only love i've known
perpetual destiny
wrapped in ebony
with clouded kisses
and cold hands
its he she misses
like the desert lands
a barren life
filled with strife
how can i recover
to learn and discover
anothers warm breath
and the gentle excitement
and doubt's early death
a new enlightment
all i've ever known
burned and worn
locked away
i'll keep my heart
never to restart

until

you
