Upon This Ruby Bed

I've cast away my pain
upon this ruby bed.
'Twas here my heart was slain;
for love it wept and bled.

The stream of tears ran dry
which flowed within this shell.
I've left the hurt to die
as grief I now dispel.

I've wrapped my soul in gauze;
with time all wounds are healed.
I've searched through dreadful flaws
where truth remained concealed.

Behind the door of errs
I've found a part of me
that's trapped by guilt that snares
without a lock or key.

This shame has caused mistrust
when seeking love that's true.
For in me lies disgust
which fogs the honest view.

Now verity shines bright
and cuts the darkened haze.
My spirit's found the might
to conquer falsehood's maze.

Restored, my soul is free
to soar through rapture's skies
and seek the flame who'll be
the sparkle in my eyes.
