Urge - Poem by Hannah Minton

I try to ignore the urge
But sometimes its impossible
I'll change my train of thought
But the train derails itself
I try to tell myself no
Its so pointless
I'll never listen to myself
Its time to bring it to the surface
Theres no hiding it
I have an obsession
And its you
Thats the first step
I dont know what the next one is
But i dont mind that darkness
I'll reach the light soon
When I do i'll get through
As long as youre still here
Thats all that matters to me
Because you are my obsession
I wouldnt be without you
But until you realize
I'll do what I've always done
I'll keep quiet and hope
For one day it'll dawn on you too
& the we'll be in sync
