Urgent: Due-Due Poem by Nellie Isabelle Steward Cooper

Urgent: Due-Due

I was just on the phone with so-n-so and he alarmingly told me
You have not paid last months rent fee, car payment or food bill

Nor have u paid on the myriad of things you are supposed to pay!

Coming due - past due - over due

What ever shall we do about this due - due...? ? ?

You should pay all these expenses and not just say there is
A better way to pay, that u have so happened upon
That this intrigue will truly solve our monthly dilemma

Please, count on me to tote the note... my adorable honey
it's only munny - everything is still nice and sunny

But..we are in extreme distress... what a mess..

And there is no time for rest...

What am I to do about this due-due you have gotten us into..! ! !

That we will someway, somehow, sometime avoid these
Is quite childish and immature of you to say the least
Your finding a better way! ! ! ..., to grapple this monthly beast

What am I to do about this due-due you have gotten us into! ! !

You smile and say my way is easy as pie and we should just try
And to our monthly dilemma, we shall say a forever bye-bye
I say not today, nor forever, things will get better my, my my

What am I to do about this due-due you have gotten us into! ! !

Urgent: Due-Due
