Us And Our Bodies Poem by Emmanuel Stone

Us And Our Bodies

Erase this suffering
bring us into the light.

This is a kiss
it comes with a price
golden pieces, for your life

Justice receives
one eye uncovered
hand open behind her back
scales forgotten, sword ready to strike.

What devil's son corrupted her?
Not God, nor fate, nor destiny
It was us, the human being
all of us waving banners in her name
all of us sold her
and all of us bought her
a bargaining point in childish games
we gave her golden pieces
she kissed us all on the lips
and we crucified ourselves blindly
now there is no one to erase our suffering
there is no one to bring us to the light
there is only us and our bodies.
