My Mother once said to me 'all that glitters is not gold, '
My Boyfriend said that 'I blew hot and cold.'
My Grandma said 'there is a silver lining behind every cloud, '
But my Grandad said 'I should stand out from the crowd.'

... As I got older and wiser with age,
I realized, I may not be reading from the same page,
I often feel blue and down in the dumps,
My brother's both, seem to come up trumps.

Where did I go wrong, did I turn a blind eye?
Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

My Father said 'as you sow so you shall reap'
But my motto still stands, 'look before you leap.'
