Utah In Whistler Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Utah In Whistler

Utah in Whistler

My friends and neighbors,
My sisters, brothers,
People of the U.S.—
We love you, regardless.

We try to be wise,
We listen, take advice,
We refrain from the
Anger and misjudgment,
That is caused by mislead.

We speak when certain.

I was there and working,
Came to me a lady,
Polite and good-looking,
With a question, searching.

In her car, to her right,
A dog sat by her side,
Just the two, all alone,
Unaware where to shop.

To questions, I answered,
"Yes" or "No, " as needed,
I guided her forward,
To the place, as one must.

She left and on return,
I saw a light of kindness,
Shined in her presence,
Her face—sun, flower.

A Utah's license plate,
Words plain and true:
"We are one, human, "
Not red, white, or blue.

'Forget that yellow hair,
Ignore the lies he tells,
One man is no nation,
He must be forgotten.'

What I wish from her,
(The lady that I met,)
Is easy and simple:
"Have a safe travel,
Set fire, add flame,
To ember of kindness."
