Utilities Try To Tax The Sun - Poem by Saiom Shriver

Because solar power is decentralized,
nonpolluting, nonviolent
and free for everyone,
gas, electric and other
utilities have been
trying to tax the sun.

Topic(s) of this poem: energy, sun

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Note: Solar power is nonhierarchical,
doesn't kill trees or foul the air, or
fill the watershed with poisonous chemicals,
is nonviolent, maintenance-free and, after
the installation, cost-free.

Therefore the 3000 utilities in the US
have been trying to tax the industry.
