Utterance Poem by John Hayes

Utterance

I find that I am always wanting
To express myself in endless taunting
Banter, badgering baited breath
Please oh please don’t mention death
Cull the senseless bray of haunting
Souls demented forlorn pointing
Frozen fingers lingering, languid
Sip the cup and taste the liquid
Bright lights gently stir the gloom
Open doors to Abel’s tomb
No not again to speak of death
For hereafter we were blessed by Seth
Oh wondrous God I praise you now
Forever in your grace and how!
