Valentine's Day Is For Cynics



‘happy valentime's day, '

I slurred to my shadow

as we both swigged

our respective bottles.

Love overdosed

in a gutter,

dry-heaving and clenching

her agonized abdomen.

like all fiends

we suffer our

slow motion suicides

and depart,

gracelessly.
