No one can wait to wake up till ’tis morn,
Amidst the dream of Valentine’s Day still;
That day, the roses will be without thorn;
With moon and stars, the sky will full afill.
The cock will crow ahead of dawn’s sun-rise;
The garden flow’rs shall blossom earlier, fast;
The air perfumed will permeate, so nice;
In love, the world of valentines is cast.
Sweet memories of the yester-years come back;
Most dainty foods will dress the tables bare;
No heart or mind shall ever feel love’s lack;
The tortoise wins against the fastest hare!
The day is meant for lovers to well meet,
Exchanging hugs and kisses and to greet;
All day, the talk will joyful be and sweet;
Just hearty banners will fill every street.
