Vancouver Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Vancouver

Living in Vancouver
With its rain after rain
I see that God, Nature:
"Show us the injustice! "

Here, rain is killer,
As is heat, in desert,
With killing dryness!

In downtown's Broadway,
Rats enjoy the richness
Of trash, in corners.

They have royal table,
In size are squirrels,
Or the lamb, of farmland.

But the rats in deserts
Are boney like locust!

Thank to fairness, kindness,
Of our God, and Nature!

How can one complain
About the presidents,
And those in governments,
When they cheat, embezzle?

Governments and churches,
Synagogues, and Masjids,
All shrines, religions,
Cheat, with their preachers.

They are the righteous heirs
Of Nature's governance!

Look at bat-vampires,
In skies, the vultures,
Africa's Lycaon pictus,
See their mean injustice,
Anxiously must hate them!
