Venus Poem by Khayelihle Bongiswa Gamedze

Venus

Oh I have lost my goddess,
My beautiful Venus.
And I am feeling worthless;
Without my dear Venus.

I went to sleep one night,
To wake the following day.
At morn I found she took her flight
Onto the skies away.

I never saw her once again
However that I look.
I sought her neath the sweet rain,
I don't know where she took.

Dear goddess if you see me
Be sure I love you so.
I might have wronged you awfully
But dove I love you so.

He's calm who took my lover,
He sure is not a soldier.
Because my lover cannot stand
A man who goes to war.

I hope he treats you very nice
And build you a warm nest.
Dear goddess I will say this twice:
'I wish you all the best.'

Oh, Alas!
I wish you all the best!
