Verkohlt Poem by Charley Bone

Verkohlt

Rating: 5.0

I am reminded we are human
when I clutch your hipbones
as I slide my hands down your body
fingertips tracing each rib
It is then I remember
you are a skeleton and
so am I.
I think you're a mixture
of my dreams, memories and nightmares
one tonic in a shot glass
choking me like smoke
burning my eyes.
Flames flickering over pictures
I can't decide.
Craving someone isn't
a nice feeling
I think you should know
the minutes are melting
away in front of me
and time is a healer.
Here I am
I don't belong to you
but I don't belong
to myself either.
