Victims All Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Victims All

They go through life defenseless
Not knowing reasons why
Through battles they are helpless
Where most often they just die.

From silly custody cases
To the ravages of cruel wars
You see their crying faces
And the pain they've suffered so far.

Their eyes stare out so empty
Of hope, of joy and dreams
No anger for the tragedies
They are forced to face, it seems.

We are concerned with climate
And animals bound for extinction
But children of this world's sad fate
Need our love and urgent attention.

Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan
Whatever place they may come from
Let all of us take them in hand
Victims all, and they need a home.

We call on the wealthy ones and kings
We call for hearts to give and share
Save these little human beings
It costs so little to give love and care.
