Vidui (Final Confesional Prayer) For A Bride (50 Years Married And 10 A Widow) Poem by Lewis Eron

Vidui (Final Confesional Prayer) For A Bride (50 Years Married And 10 A Widow)

I could have been the rabbi on her wedding day
Looking into her blue eyes
With her long gone groom's foot
Searching for a glass to break
She looks at me now
With blue eyes
Faded only a bit by too much sun
And a bit of dust
From across the bed room
Knelling beside her future self
Reciting other Hebrew words
Marking another passage.
