Viking Genes.
From north lands cold, the Vikings came,
With boats of wood and hearts aflame.
They sailed the seas, a fearless crew,
To lands afar, both old and new.
Not just blonde hair and eyes of blue,
But mixed with folks of every hue.
They traded goods and fought with might,
And left their mark in dark and light.
Down rivers long, to lands of sand,
They spread their genes across the land.
To Russia's plains and England's shore,
Their children lived and built much more.
To eastern lands, and world wide shore,
Their seeds they spread, and asked for more.
In Turkey's fields, and eastern land,
Their Viking genes, now close at hand.
A bit of Viking in you too?
Perhaps a bit, it might be true.
The Viking story, wide and grand,
Their genes are spread across the land.
So if you trace your family tree,
A Viking past you might just see.
A bit of North, a bit of East,
A Viking gene, a seafaring beast.
