Violence Poem by Rebekah Gamble

Violence

Rating: 5.0

Suddenly my conscious is aware
that violence is in everything.
It's in the force
of my tossing AVON products in a box.
It's in the pressure
of my arm scrubbing a skillet clean.
It's in the way you look at me.
Violence is in the very definition of conviction,
in every Hallelujah, in every climax,
in every dip of the road of love,
and every peak of all love's mountains.
Violence is in my happiness.
It is the very air we breathe.
So how can Jehovah God hate violence?
Isn't it the pinnacle
of his creation?
