Violent People - Poem by Francis Duggan

I do know people who at times can be violent but they are cowards at heart one might say
When stood up to they cannot take the pressure and they are quick for to back away
They are the type born to be bullies and power over others they do crave
But at heart all bullies are cowardly and a bully could never be brave,
I do know people who are aggressive those who do lack in self control
They are born to be angry people they do not have light in the soul,
Violent people on their pets and animals have been known to inflict pain
From being cruel to the defenceless satisfaction they do gain,
Cruelty and Violence are nasty siblings suffering for others they create
Than them you will not find much nastier with the nastiest they do rate,
Violent people are cruel hearted they would not know how to be kind
In the heart of one who is violent a cruel one you are bound to find
Yet at heart they are quite cowardly they find pleasure in inflicting pain
From hurting and harming others satisfaction they do gain.
