Violins Poem by George Savige

Violins

Rating: 5.0

I listened to the music
And the notes they left behind
While the violins were playing
In the dance hall of my mind.

Oh the violins were lovely
The sweetest I have heard
And the singers sung the music
While we hung on every word

And I held her gently to me
With my arms about her twined
While the violins were playing
In the dance hall of my mind

She whispered to me softly
I love you oh so dear
Her arms around me tightened
As she held me very near

And the music stopped its playing
All the notes were left behind
But the violins kept playing
In the dance hall of my mind

I have no words to express my appreciation of the most beautiful poem of love. Thanks, George.
