Vivid Poem by Brioney Leon

Vivid

Rating: 3.5

She waits in the garden
Bluebells and buttercups
and catches dreams in
cotton candy hair
She listens for your step
along the cobbled road
You walk and kick a stone

When at last you’ve taken time
you come to her
soaked with sun and weary
Her smile lights the
diamonds in her eyes
She holds your hands in hers
and sets you free

Entwined together you sway
Cherub clouds move slowly
under a restless azure sky
the soft wind whispers “yes, ”
Cloaked in tree leaves
the hidden finches spy
She kisses your silver tongue
and surrenders to the illusion
