Almost as if it was just yesterday
“You make a lovely couple” they use to say
I wonder what ever went wrong
Can’t figure out how it ever got started
Can’t figure out how to stop it from ending
Losing you is so very hard to even imagine
Funny how life is so often different
From our dreams and plans

“A marriage made in heaven” they said
I wonder what ever went wrong
Was it you, was it me, or was it the both of us
Was it a simple twist of fate?
Was it truly meant to be?
Can’t figure out how it ever got started

The images are vivid and clear
The places, the people
The good times, the bad times
Losing you is a thought I could never ever truly imagine
