your eloquence
has not served its
purpose

the forest fire is
not stopping
waters did not spring
from rocks

your mastery of the
law has not saved those
fated to die
has not inspired those
who were ordered
to continue living

you erudite speaker
what word is surgical
what sentence is
livable? what have you
to make a silent city?

we have enough of you
soon we shall pass a
law to abolish you
and make us free from the
cudgels of your
well chosen craft your
filtered words
your vocal chords....
