Voices Poem by Ian Syder

Voices

Rating: 5.0

Indistinguishable from
The sound that echoed the block
A voice calls a name (but who?)
Barking out commands to do
Tempered to effect no shock
Confusion breaks the humdrum

“What’s that? What did he say?
Was that my name? For meds or what? ”

Repetitions in interval
Ordered, ordered and ordered
Reverberations travel
From one to another cell
The words become recorded
By everyone and all
