W I T N E S S Poem by Jim Boone

W I T N E S S

That I was here by adding
Your own take to my
Chameleon like life

What we did for each other then
What we do for each other now

Filled with the wonder
The head-shaking reflections
While feeling good about today

I had the balls to live openly
On the front lines of youth
Soliciting the joys and ills
Of playing the hand I was dealt

OUT there for all to witness
Refusing to hide or fold
For any reason, at any time.

Happiness comes from Self
Through “the Force’ that watches
Over this learning time of
For better or for worse

Opening our minds and hearts
Mixing it up and bravely going forth
Coming to terms and bearing witness.
