Wìthìñ Thìs Þrìsøñ Poem by Menime Soul

Wìthìñ Thìs Þrìsøñ

Rating: 2.7

Within this prison built of clay
Freedom mockingly beckons
Unseen bars that bade her stay
Forbidding heart and mind to reckon...
This beating heart seems made of glass,
And crazed from the heat of fear
Refused to let the grieving pass
Keeping the pain ever so near...
Imitation smiles adorn her face
Transposing frowns to cheer
While shallow laughter joins the race
As she somberly lives each year...
Tears unshed 'til twilight falls
Turning day to bitter night
Unable to flee those prison walls
Draining her of will to fight...
But fight she must and fight she will
To escape her prison so bare
Setting free emotions for so long still
And implanting the seeds of care.
