Walk Away Poem by Lynn Garman

Walk Away

here i am.
at the end of the road
trying to figure out what path to take.
do i continue down the road of happiness?
or do i diverge from that path and head down the one of loneliness?

i stand at the fork in the road for about ten minutes,
before my feet move themselves.
i somehow managed to stay on the path of happiness.
because i think, scratch i know.
this is my time.

this is the time for me to emerge.
emerge from the shadows and let everyone know who i am.
let them know that i am me and im not going to change.
take me for me.
or walk away.
