Walking Along The Shore, Hu! Poem by Mohammad Younus

Walking Along The Shore, Hu!

Walking along the shore, Hu!
I find it the endless stretch, Hu!
whispers in the distance, Hu!
I hear: there is more, HU!
Waves breathe against the sand, HU!
a hymn too soft to name, yet Hu! HU!

The moon rises, full and calm, Hu!
its light reflects something—Hu!
the light of the sun unseen, Hu!
and I step, barefoot, on the sand, Hu!
feeling the pulse of the tide, Hu!
reciting, the unspoken mantra, Hu!

A breeze passes, like a spirit, Hu!
touching me, opening deep within, Hu!
leading me onward, without a word, Hu!
unbound in its vast embrace, Hu!

The sky stretches wide, a dome, Hu!
I am not alone, with the divine, Hu!
and the divine, my essence true, Hu!
it feels like one home, the universe, Hu!

Each grain of sand, a spark of light, Hu!
whispers from the dawn to dusk, Hu!
the night, the day, only one voice, Hu!
truth is there, waiting to be known, Hu!

In every wave, every breeze, a voice, Hu!
the One, calling beyond the shore, Hu!
beyond the sea, to a freedom unknown, Hu!
I walk, and in walking, I return, Hu!
